At IPS, our Exploratory school educational model enables students to explore their academic and career interests through a full range of program offerings. Our IPS Exploratory schools provide high-quality learning experiences enriched in English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Sciences, and the fine arts through an instructional model that encourages students' curiosity and enables them to achieve their fullest potential.
The Exploratory educational model inspires students to explore their academic and career interests to achieve their fullest potential. Teachers use rigorous college-prep curriculum and build in opportunities for enrichment, providing students with career readiness and the confidence to follow their natural interests.

Welcome to Jonathan Jennings School 109, where we strive to exceed expectations in all we do through our commitment to nurturing young minds and inspiring independent thinkers. Located on 10 acres in the heart of Indianapolis's Gateway Neighborhood, our campus features extensive outdoor learning spaces that complement a well-rounded education integrating rigorous reading and mathematics instruction with extracurricular opportunities in sports, arts, and clubs. Our dedicated team of educators and staff work hand in hand with community partners and our active Parent/Teacher Organization to create a safe environment where students grow into responsible citizens through diverse educational programs including STEM education, project-based learning, and special education services that cater to all learning needs—because at Jonathan Jennings School 109, we believe it takes a village to educate a child, and children always come first.
